Go read the September Japan Blog Matsuri! There are plenty of entries so you might want to make a cup of tea before you settle down to read them. Many thanks to Tae for stepping up and hosting only the second edition of the JBM revival. The October Matsuri will be held by blog carnival veteran, Deas. Expect him to announce the topic soon.

The Japan Blog Matsuri for September has been announced and this month’s host, Tae, is looking for entries with the theme “The Language of Japan”.
Let me know in the comments if you’d like to host November’s October’s February 2009’s matsuri.

The August Japan Blog Matsuri has now been published. Be sure to check out all of the Impressions of Tokyo that were submitted. Thanks to all for your support and submissions!
Don’t forget to submit your posts to next months matsuri which will be hosted by Tae at Guide to Japanese. The subject will be “The Language of Japan” and posts can be submitted here.

Here we are, August 20th. If you haven’t got your Japan Blog Matsuri article in by midnight tonight (Japan time), then I’m sending you on a really boring date.

It’s time for a Japan Blog Matsuri reminder! The deadline is August 20th to submit your Impressions of Tokyo so that means you only have 7 more days! We already have four submissions and I know that more of you are eager to participate…
Your impressions can be real or imagined and will be published on August 24th at The Tokyo Traveler. When your masterpiece is complete it can be submitted here.
You can also volunteer to host a future Japan Blog Matsuri by leaving a comment in this post (Tae signed up via a comment on a previous post - thanks Tae!).

Back by popular demand…the newly revived Japan Blog Matsuri is now up and awaiting your Impressions of Tokyo. The deadline for submissions is August 20th and I can’t wait to read all of your great posts!
Since most of The Tokyo Traveler readers are not part of this community this is your chance to expose your blog to a whole new audience.
Nick and I have been working behind the scenes to get this Matsuri up and running so just post a comment if anything seems awry.

Since the old Japan Blog Matsuri is listed as discontinued on BlogCarnival.com, I’ve set up a new one with the imaginative name, Japan Blog Matsuri v2! Stay tuned for more updates.

There was some positive feedback to my first post about reviving the Japan Blog Matsuri, so I say we go ahead and get started.
Shane has offered to host the first one, so I’ll pass the baton to her and she can update you with the topic, timing and all the other details.
To help her and future hosts organize the matsuri, I’ve made a little banner for the sidebar. If you click it, you’ll go to the tag page for “jbmatsuri” so please tag all posts about the matsuri with jbmatsuri.
Feel free to use the image on your own blogs.
According to the original rules, the host chooses a topic, but I’m sure Shane and future hosts would welcome any suggestions. I think the previous matsuri topics were festivals, gadgets, uniquely Japanese and tourism.

I’d like to propose we revive the Japan Blog Matsuri! For a while back in 2007, we had a monthly “blog carnival” where a Japan-related theme was chosen and bloggers wrote something that fitted in with that theme.
The Japan Blog Matsuri was quite successful while it lasted. I found some new sites, learned things I didn’t know, and we all got to share some link love.
Ken’s What Japan Thinks laid out the rules here, and among the hosts were Deas (here) and Bill (here) .
The first thing is to see if there’s enough interest, so leave a comment if you’d like to participate.
